Label Counter - TSC Printer
Hello everyone,
I have a client with an issue showing the label counter. Normally, on a TSC industrial printer, if I'm to print 3 labels it would show a counter going 3..2..1.
If they use their file, it always shows 1/1, even if the number of copies in the data entry form is more than one, and the printer correctly prints more than 1 copy.
I don't know the BarTender version they're using but I have the label file and database and I'm using them with BarTender Designer 11.11.0 Enterprise Edition, having the same issue.
The label gets the data from a csv database, with a Filter query where the operator has to input a correct ID. If the ID is found, the data entry form will activate the data entry objects for Expiry Date, Copies, and Batch, and the operator can print the labels. The label itself prints both input data (Expiry Date, Batch) but most of the info is from the db record (ingredients, name etc…)
I've tried replicating the label on a test file, using a test db and having the same query filter, query prompt, having the number of copies as embedded data with the input in the data entry form, but in this case the printer correctly shows the counter (3…2…1).
In the Quantity tab of the prin windows the Copies is “Set by Data Source”, the record selection is flagged for “Use Database” and Queried Records is first record only, but have tried also with "All", but each ID is unique so it would find only one reconrd anyway.
Lastly, to avoid a firmware issue with the printer, the client's printer counter works just fine if they create a test label and send, either with a data entry form or on the print windows, more than one copy to print.
Any help in this would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you kindly

Hello Everyone,
After bangin the head around almost every possible option, including all kinds of ways the labels could be set as serialized, I found the answer was in a simple flag.
Turns out that while I was replicating the label structure I noticed that by default BarTender does not have “Enable page template” flagged, while the original file did.
After unflagging, and printing on to a file to check if I found Qx PRINT 1,1 commands in the file (like in “wrong" prints), I found thare was only one PRINT 1,Q command, where Q is the copies to print. After hooking up a printer I had confirmation that the counter now works properly.
Hope this info can be useful
