Print Run Name
Can someone explain how this field works please?
Does/should it have a specific content?
Can the content be modified?

It's the 11th field down in the Print Job Fields list in the Designer.

Ah, the Print Job Name. That is the name of the label format used as far as I am aware and I believe it is automatically generated and so cannot be modified

Yes, that's what I assumed too. It's a little strange that the file name is available elsewhere, but a unique print run number isn't that field!
I will need to concatenate other fields to give a unique identity on the Start label of a print.
