Going from Automation to Professional
We purchased Bartender Automation and currently have 15 licenses. We are now in need of one additional license but these licenses are very expensive and come in packs of 5, which we won't need for the foreseeable future. We also bought the Automation version planning to use the functionality with our ERP system, but found that using Print Station with labels calling data from SQL Views works better for us. I believe this is more in line with Professional than Automation version.
I know it might not be possible to downgrade completely, but I'm wondering if it's possible to purchase the Pro version separately so that we can start adding Pro users rather than Automation users for cost purposes. Will we find conflicts with licensing? I'm assuming we could use another server as the Pro License server if needed.

What version are you running and have you got an Annual Maintenance Agreement then if so you could upgrade to v2019 for free and this is additional printer upgrades may be purchased individually.
The latest version of Professional is now also licenced on a similar basis to Automation (ie any number of users printing to X printers) and a 2019 licence should not conflict with an earlier version as the process was changed in this latest release. Saying that it maybe prudent to run on a different server anyway if that is available.
If you do go with the Pro option, you may want to tweak the Administer>BarTender Document Setup>Save As version to match your older software as labels saved in 2019 cannot be opened in earlier releases of BarTender. If you are just using this PC for Print Station purposes and not for creating/editing then you shouldn't need to so this anyway

Thank you for the response, Pete. We are running 10.1 SR3. I don't believe we have an annual maintenance agreement but this definitely helps.
