Group positioning crashes with barcodes
Hi,
BarTender allows to select a group of objects and precisely change the whole group position by changing the position of one of them in the properties window. Except when the group contains a barcode…
Using BarTender 10.5.0 (edit: 11.5.0), changing a group position with a barcode make the software crash and restart.
Am I missing a setting? Any fix for this?
I see there's the version 11.5.1. I'll try. but nothing about this bug in the release notes.

BarTender 10 is many years old and so this issue could have arisen long after it came out of support (pre 2018) and so it is probably not mentioned on any release notes. Saying that there have been a number of versions and releases since then and so you would need to check through all of these to find it even if it was mentioned.
I cannot remember seeing this issue before on any of the previous versions I have used including upto the current 11.5

I made a mistake, I was using version 11.5, and not 10.5. And now I updated to 11.5.1.
I tried many things, it may not be due to barcodes finally, but to snapping I guess, when some objects from the group are snapped to grid while others are snapped to objects probably… I successfully moved crashing groups a bit with the mouse and then adjusted the position with exact coordinates (group position tab), or pasted similar objects from templates without crash. At the end, ultimate trial, I selected everything, moved the group (group position tab, value changed by keyboard) 1mm to the right without crash (yeah!), and then 1mm back to the left and got a crash… No problem though if I move the group with the mouse. Enough for me, I give up.Log file says: 6668 Error Miscellaneous OK BarTender Image Dump: Exception ACCESS_VIOLATION occurred at address 0x0000000140144182 inside module C:\PROGRA~1\Seagull\BARTEN~1.5\BarTend.exe loaded with base address 0x0000000140000000. Just tried this on my version and not getting any issues with moving grouped objects. I wonder if a filed on your label has become corrupted in some way and that is what is causing the problem. Could be a pain, but if you ungroup each field in turn andas you do then move the rest of the group you could possibly find out if this is the case
