Can you attach a copy of an original and modified BarTender document to examine and compare.  Create a test label for this if you don't want to make public an actual label you use.

    Please see attached

2d label update is what is viewed on screen

2d label is what always ends up being printed

I have even tried replacing the 2d label file by deleting the original and replacing it with a renamed 2d label update but it always ends up printing out as the original form

Sorry if I am missing something simple but I have only had one day on Bartender and the previous user has left the business

    Thanks

    Darren,

You have a database connected to that format. That means that any changes you make to the fields are only the the "Sample Data" that is displayed, and the actual data is coming from a text file! That would explain why it keeps printing the same data.

    Does that make sense?

ok that makes sense, where would the text file normally be located?

found the file & yes I had edited that but revisiting made me realise what is happening but not how to resolve

the file is changed but when it updates on the serial counter it then over writes the 2d label content file and reverses the information ready for the next barcode

    Darren,

If you wish to edit all the fields on the label by hand, you should de-link the text file from the BarTender document and change every field's type to "Embedded Data". To manage your connected files, you need to go to the Database Connection Setup. The shortcut to get to that is CTRL+D.

Otherwise, if you wish to use the text file, you should put in the text file what data you want to print by record, and then select the needed records at print time. If you do not have experience in connecting files to BarTender, please see this training video:
