Need Simple Printing Solution From Motorola (Symbol) Scanner
We need to be able to print barcode labels to a Zebra wireless belt printer from our Motorola MC9090 wireless barcode scanner. The user will be scanning multiple barcodes off of a purchase order receiving list, and each scan should produce a label immediately after scanning with no further user intervention. We have successfully been able to print using a trial of Enterprise Automation 10.1 and the Web Print Server, but the process there is too cumbersome for our users and requires too many steps. Out of the box, the WPS requires the user to scan, click print, respond to a confirmation, then clear the previous scan before moving onto the next scan. We need quick scan - print - scan - print. We had achieved this through a custom Access application previously, but need to move away from that for security reasons.
I'm not a .NET programmer, otherwise I'd code something on my own. We'd be willing to pay to have someone help develop something custom for us, either using WPS or a custom Windows CE app to reside directly on the scanner, or some other solution. We basically need a "scan item" data entry field that will call our btw file and print to its default printer.

If you can install the mobile printers to the BarTender's server, – you could try Commander.Install BarTender + Commander on a Windows server, then install printers to the server.In handheld device, create text file (trigger) then upload by FTP or TCP/IP socket to the server.The Commander detects the trigger file, then print BarTender document to printer.Using Commander script, you can specify document and printer within the trigger file.Commander script is described in example #3.0 -

I have Bartender, Commander, and the printers all installed on the server. I have no idea how to create an interface in Windows CE that would receive the scan, write it to a text file, and upload to the server with one squeeze of the scanner's trigger. That's the tricky part I can't seem to accomplish in any method I've tried.

For that question, I don't have a good answer - perhaps you could ask in some other forums deal with Windows Mobile/CE, or - hopefully someone in this forum have such experience to be shared of.
