    Hello Chandan,

     

    When logging in to the Citrix server via a Citrix session, do you see a general performance issue with every application you work with, or just with BarTender?

     

    How many BarTender documents are stored on the NAS share location? How many sub-folders is this folder composed of? Would you've the same problem if you load BarTender documents from a shared location with only a few BarTender documents in them?

    Please point by point  update to your query.

     

    When logging in to the Citrix server via a Citrix session, do you see a general performance issue with every application you work with, or just with BarTender?

    - NO. We see the slowness only with BarTender designer Module. Other modules work fine.
     

    How many BarTender documents are stored on the NAS share location? How many sub-folders is this folder composed of? Would you've the same problem if you load BarTender documents from a shared location with only a few BarTender documents in them?

     

    -- There are 329 BarTender Label template and 2 sub folders 20 KB and 110 KB of each. The total size of that MAS share folder of ~ 11 MB. Do you see this size of folder may cause any impact?


     

    Please note: When user trying to open the Bartender Designer Application module though citrix get’s frozen on first login and stay hanged for almost 4-5 minutes or more. After that, it starts working fine. But when we open the same Application module directly on Server, everything works fine and performance is acceptable.

     

    Looking for your suggestion on this issue solution.

    Please try the following please (make a backup first of the Windows registry).

     

    BarTender uses its own "File > Open" dialog (we had to create our own dialog in order to be able to load BarTender documents stored in Librarian companion application), but you can try to switch and use the Windows "File > Open" dialog instead to see if this improves things:

    Using the Windows File Dialog

    As of 9.4 SR2, it is possible to switch to the Windows common file dialog by creating the following value inside the following Windows registry folder (In order to open the Windows registry, go to “Start>Run” in Windows and now type regedit):

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Seagull Scientific\Librarian\File Dialog
      Name = Use Windows Dialog   
      Type = REG_DWORD
      Data = 0x00000001 (1)

    Using this registry key is not recommended for anyone using Librarian, because it disables Librarian integration with other applications.

    We added this Registry key, rebooted the servers but still issue NOT resolved. Any other suggestion is appreciated.

    Can you perhaps export and attach this registry key for me to examine?

     

    Furthermore, if you open a Citrix session as domain administrator, will the same slowliness still appear?

     

    As a test, you might wish to install the latest version of BarTender on a test server and let us know if the same issues still appear...

    I have the exact same problem in Bartender 9.2 SR2.

    Tried the register fix without any luck.

     

    I´ve used Bartender for a while and this is a new problem. The dialog slowed down some months ago.

     

    I would Think that there is an update to windows that has affected Bartender.

    The registry change is only applicable to BT v9.4 or higher.

     

    What is exactly slow in BarTender? Starting BarTender, opening a BT document, working with BT document objects...?

     

    What is your environment? Windows Version and Service Pack, do you also run under Citrix / Terminal Services...?
