Dropping Check-Digit

Looking for a little bit of guidance...

 

We are feeding BarTender a 14 digit barcode that already has the check digit populated within it, so I assume the correct thing to do is to drop the last digit off the string and allow BarTender to regenerate the check digit again?  Or, can you get BarTender to ignore the check digit generation and just use what has been fed into BarTender?

  In Data source > Transform tab, there is Truncation option to keep 13 characters from left.
