Last Digit In Barcode Does Not Correspond To Database Data
Hello,
I'm currently running Bartender v9.3 on Windows XP and printing to a Zebra Z4M
I am having issue with one particular barcode with which the software seems to change the last digit automatically from my inputed data.
I have tried re-saving, opening a brand new label document, re-saving my data excel spreadsheet and re-importing into Bartender and also manually inputing "screen data" onto the barcode. But for some reason Bartender changes the last digit to a "7" when the data inputed on data should be an "8"
I am using EAN13 barcode e.g. The barcode number inputed on the spreadsheet should be "5021109564268" but when it is previewed in Bartender and when the label is printed, the barcode number is "5021109564267"
Please find a screen shot attached for your reference.
Would appreciate any solutions to this problem. Many thanks in advance.

Hello MrElastane,
The first 12 digits of an EAN-13 barcode correspond to the entered data, while the 13th digit is a check digit automatically generated (in this case by BarTender). What's happening in your document is that the 13th digit you are entering with your data doesn't correspond to the correct check digit and BarTender simply ignores it and instead sets the correct one.
If you wish to enter 13 digits of data you'll need to use a different symbology, such as Code-128 or maybe ITF-14.
Cheers.

Hi Fernando,
Many thanks for your reply and explanation. I'll have another look at this by using the other barcode symbology suggested.
Cheers!
