If you want to print the label formats at the same size, and both printers support the selected size, then you can just create one label format in BarTender and use it to print to whatever printer you want to print to. When you switch printers you will see a message in BarTender ask you to allow it to “automatically adjust” certain setting to match the new printer. Once you’ve done that it will work just fine.

You should note that you will get an error if the page size of the new printer does not support the label size previously set up. For instance, if you create a label on a laser printer that is a full 8.5 by 11 inches, then try to switch to your Zebra printer, you will get an error because the Zebra cannot print a label that wide.

    I hope that helps.

When printing via a trigger file to Commander, there will be no one to see such a message and respond. I suppose it just does it, assuming the answer is 'Yes' ?

Correct. When the message is displayed in a non-interactive session then BarTender does the "default" response, which is to automatically adjust the page setup in this case.

You can adjust the default responses for this, and other messages, by going to Administer > Application Message Setup inside of BarTender. The message is question here is 3703.
