Detecting Size Of Label Stock Loaded On Printer
We have 3 differenct label templates: height 2.5 x width 4.0, height 6.0 x width 4.0, height 5 x width 3. (inches). We only have 2 label printers meaning we sometimes have to swap out label stock depending on which label we are printing. Is there a way to determine what size label stock is loaded prior to printing a label so that I can either rerouted to a different printer or warn the users that the labels need to be changed?

Unfortunately this is not possible. I suppose it's conceivable that if you could interrogate the printer for it's current label length, and the printer is able to return that value back to the calling software, then the software could determine which label stock is loaded. Note only the height of the label can be ascertained in this way. However, this would require both the printer and the software to support such a thing, and in general neither do.
