Trouble With Database Queries For Separate Tables
Hi there,
I'm currently working on changing our labels to fall in line with new chemicals labelling regulations and have come across a problem.
We have different labels for the same product due to customers requesting their own labels or even a slight change in formulation (colour/perfume mostly) and this means we have a rather large data set. My intention was to create a database where I could separate our labels, the special formulation labels and the customer own labels into different tables but still use a single database.
I've designed the labels to find and auto populate from a query search which works by looking up the product code and then populating the rest of the label using that row of data. The problem arises when I enter the data code for the second table which uses different product codes (our codes use the first letter of the product, our special formulations start with SF and customers labels start with COL) as these come up with a "no records found" return.
Is there any way to search the database for the product code without putting them all into one table and creating a large data source to search through as we will still need to edit these labels as well as new ones and delete old ones. I have no experience with SQL or VB script so don't wish to try and mess with the coding myself.

Hi there,
I've been wondering if its possible to rather than join the multiple databases, use a query or something of the sort to specify which table to look into before entering the query for auto populating the label. I've attached the label design below showing the information i'll be looking for in the search (apart from company info/logos). I'm using a Access document to provide the information.
I have very little experience with coding for purposes of using scripts and have only been using the bartender software for a couple of months.

Are the different tables you're wishing to connect to related by a common field? If yes, then the query prompt would make a search on the "Joined" tables. You can create more than 1 query prompt and use the OR parameter for offering the choice of entering just one of the query prompt values.
