Commander Starts To Ignore Trigger Files After Time

Hi,

 

Firstly I will specify our setup.

 

We wanted to create a mobile printing stations with handheld mobile scanners, and mobile printers.

WinCE 6.0 on Motorola MC3910 doesn't support the Bartender api so we went with a different route and created an app on the mc3190 which creates a text file on a shared folder (This folder is scanned with Commander). When a text file is created in the shared folder it triggers the commander to pull out the information from it and creates a print job merging the .btw file with the information held in the .txt file. This print job is then send on a Zebra P4T printer which is strapped to the users belt.

 

Commander runs as a Service on a VM Win Server 2008 R2.

 

This setup is working just fine, but after some time the task starts to ignore the .txt files.

1. The service runs and everything seems ok.

2. Task shows the status of "Waiting for File"

3. When i create a .text file in the folder it stays ignored < THE ISSUE

4. After stopping and starting the task again the files gets Scanned > Printed > Renamed as it should normally.

 

Do you know a possible solution for this issue?

  Hello Jakub.

  1. Can you let us now your BarTender version and Service Release?
  2. Which Windows version are yo using?
  3. Is Commander Service running as a local System Account or under a specific account?
  4. Are you using a mapped drive or a UNC path?

  Hi Carlos,

   

  1. We use Enterprise Automation v 10.0 SR 3 Build: 2867.

  2. Win version is Win Server 2008 R2.

  3. Commander service is running under a specific account with the correct access rights.

  4. I only use UNC paths with Bartender.

   

   

  In the meantime i was able to solve the problem by creating a scheduled task, that restarts the commander service every 24h.

  I really would suggest upgrade your BarTender to the latest Service Release for your version v10.0 SR4:
