Barcode Shifting
We are running BarTender 10.1 and printing to Brady PR600 printers using Seagull drivers. We have quite a few stations that we have been running for several years without seeing this issue.
One of our stations printed a label on 4"x4" stock where one of the barcodes shifted to the top left of the label. The human-readable stayed at the correct location. The barcode is a GS1-128 with the Human Readable visibility set to full. The Assembler had printed several labels earlier today prior to this one. I was alerted and was able to print the label without any issues on the same station. As I mentioned, this is the first time we have seen this. Any idea what could have caused this? Nothing was changed on the station or printer.
Thanks
Mike

Sorry, are you saying this was a one off occurrence, or that it happens repeatably? How are print requests of BarTender being made; interactively or via some form of automation? Assuming this was a one off event, the cause could be due to corrupted print code arriving at the printer, or perhaps more likely, a glitch in the printer itself. Doing a factory default reset on the printer is a good way to clear out any gremlins. If you keep getting this issue, then maybe a full removal, and clean reinstall of the printer driver could fix it.

Thanks Ian, So far this is a one off occurance. We have created our own Windows app using the SDK to print the labels. In addition to printing them, it also saves an image (.png) to a network location for archive purposes. We are also using the BarTender database, so the label is saved there as well. I checked the images in both the dB and the saved .pngs and they are all fine, they do not show the weird barcode.
I thought it might be printer related as the images in the dB and the archive are good. I thought I'd post the question just to make sure. I'll monitor things and deal with the printer as neccessary.
