No Data On Labels After Version Upgrade - User Profile Specific
We are beginning an investigation on an issue we are seeing in our environment, and I thought it might be a good idea to put the question out to see if anyone else has seen this issue, and/or can point us in the direction of why this might be occurring.
Windows 7 machine running bartender Enterprise Edition v7.75 printing a simple text label with a part/serial number combination. Template was setup to use a Data Form, and prompted for the user to scan 2 barcodes to populate part/lot, mark it as a reprint and add a quantity of labels to print. The user ran this template from a shortcut on the desktop using the /P and /X switches.
No issue with this configuration, everything ran as expected for months.
Same machine, Bartender Enterprise Edition v7.75 was uninstalled, and Bartender Automation Edition 10.1 SR2 was installed. Same template, same data form, new shortcut pointing to the new BarTender installation location, but an issue has come up with a couple of users in the environment.
When these users complete the data form, labels are generated, but are blank. Another user logs into the machine, uses the same process as the user generating blank labels, but labels are printed as expected.
We proceeded to delete the User Profiles for those that were printing blanks, and these users now print as expected. We would like to understand if there is a settings file in the User Profile that could cause this type of issue to occur.
Easy solution is to make sure all user profiles are gone when the machine IQ/OQ is complete, so new ones are recreated any time new versions are installed, but still curious as to what could be causing this issue.

I don't have a good idea - 7.75 was a quite old version and we might have unexpected issue upon update.
make sure that...
- When install and uninstall, login as local admin user rights.
- After uninstallation of 7.75, remove files in ...
[C:\Program Files\Seagull] or [C:\Program Files (x86)\Seagull].
[C:\ProgramData\Seagull] or [C:\Documents and Settings\All Users]
- HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Seagull Scientific
