Well there definitely is a lot of data going on there. It's hard to know where exactly the hangup would be. You could try pre-downloading the font you're using (Arial from what I see) to the printer first. It could also possibly be your database connection. Be sure you're using the Seagull printer driver for the printer you're using. You may also try unchecking some of the boxes under the "performance" tab of your print dialog.

    1. Make sure that you are using an up to date Seagull printer driver for your Sato printer and not a driver from another vendor. The current version is: v7.3.1

    2. From the Print dialog under the "Perfromance" tab make sure that you have enabled the default performance options, particularly concerning the static parts of the label. The use of caching is optional.

    3. I note that one small text object above the barcode is connected to a text data file. Is this intentional as everything else seems to be static apart from the time/date?

    4. The below white paper should also be of help to you:

    Thanks for your quick answers,

You are right, there is a huge amount of Arial text on the label. The raason for this is that the result with the in the printer available true type font is not wysiwyg. Usig the arial font, BT creates a bitmap and you get a wysiwyg result. There are however some fields that I retrieve out of a text database for thes I use the printer internal fonts. The problem is not to be found here. (I have other labels that run fine in this way using all 17 variables and large textboxes).

The thing that strikes me as odd is the following: When I print 1 copy it's "normal fast" If I print 7500 it takes about 4 minutes to generate the printjob.

The only difference between thes two printjobs should be in the last line Q1 for the first job and Q7500 for the big job. Why does it take so much more time?

(I'm using the latest seagull driver for the Sato LT408e)

    1. Can you attach a print file for (PRN) the single label print job, and a print job for large quantity of labels that seems to reproduce the un-optimized result. The print to file option is found in the "Print" dialog under the "Options" sub tab.

    2. I note also that you have a time text object in the format of HH:MM:ss that uses the printer's Real Time Clock (RTC). If you use the BarTender/Windows time for this object does this make a significant difference to print job file size, and the time it takes to print the label?
