Sato Driver Clear Current Print Job With New Print Job Not Working

We just updated to the Seagull Sato 7.3.7 drivers from 7.3.4 for our M8485S-e printers. We had been using the ^<ESC>A^<ESC>*^<ESC>Z^<CR>  user command to clear any existing print job on the printer when sending a new print job. For some reason this stopped working with version 7.3.7 of the driver and the existing print job is not clearing, Any idea on what the problem might be?

  In further testing if we add the user command to the label via Page Setup --> Media Handling --> Driver Settings then the user command will work. But if we set the User Command via Printer Properties --> Printing Defaults --> Pate Setup --> Advanced Options the user command does not work

   

  Seems like it should work via Printer Properties and be inherited by the label via Driver Settings, are we missing something?

  You need the setting in the printing preferences for the document, not the default settings which just act as a starting point for new documents you create.  This is because printing preference settings are embedded and stored in the document file, and are not used from the general driver instance's default settings.  The document's printing preferences can be reached via the BarTender "Print" dialog via the "Document Properties" button.  The "Driver Settings" button in media handling tab is just another route into the document property settings.,
