Possible To Remove Prefix In Datamatrix?
Hi,
I'm using Bartender 10.1 Entreprise Automation (trial version) in generating a 2D datamatrix ECC200 (44x44) for a string of 142 characters. These characters are encoded using CP1252 and could be of ascii values 0-255.
When I set the text encoding of the datamatrix to US, Western Europe (ANSI, 1252), the prefix ']d4\000023' is automatically added to the datamatrix in front of the data.
The prefix is not appended to the datamatrix, if I set the text encoding to US, Western Europe (ISO 8859-1). But this is not the encoding that can be used for the data.
The prefix setting in barcode properties is set to None but the prefix is added regardless. So the prefix seems to be related to the selected encoding?
Is it possible to suppress the prefix ']d4\000023' so that the entire data can be fitted into the datamatrix? If so, how can this be done?
Thanks in advance.

If you'll set your scanner to use the extended ASCII character set, you'll discover that ]d4\000023 actually translates to an ascii character 23 'End Transmission Block', a required prefix for ANSI 1252. The only way to turn that off is to use a different encoding type.
