Switch From Ean-13 To Ean-8 Depending On Data
Hi,
On a single label format is there a way to print either EAN-13 or EAN-8 barcodes depending on the data received in the datasource?
Thanks,
Simon

This can be done in mainly three ways:
1. You could use layers to set your two barcodes and display only one at print time depending on the information on a data source.
2. You could instead use different templates that can also be conditionally printed using a Template selector.
*Both options need the Automation edition at least.
3. Finally you could set your two barcodes one on top of the other and use a VB script to render one of them empty depending on the value of a different data source.

Can you please give detailed instructions on setting it up? I have one database field that has both UPC-A and EAN-13 items in it and need to print the barcode on the labels.
Thank you,
Vicki

Hello junglejims,
What version and edition of BarTender are you working with? Also, in which of my three different options are you interested?
Regards.

In order to be able to conditionally print your both barcodes you'll need at least the Professional edition. I'm afraid that the Ultra-Light edition won't support it.
