Locking Textbox
Hi Guys,
Apologies upfront if i'm posting this in wrong place.
Would like to know how i go about locking certain textbox so that other people can't edit it.
For Example; i have these 3 lines on a single label, and only want to enable any editing on the 3rd line.
Europe - Want this locked.
America - Want this locked
Asia - Able to edit

In BarTender, you can lock objects by double clicking on the object in question to open its properties, now select the "Position" node on the left and enable "Lock object" on the right. However, this will just lock the position, not the editing of the object.
Perhaps you would better prompt (via the "Data Entry Form") for the Asia item and at print time, you could print from our "Print Station" companion application for the variable information to be entered. As the prompt just asks for "Asia", the users cannot change the values for Europe and America. Does this help?

Hey Dom,
Another quick question....when i enable print only password, it does lock data editing but i want to be able to move data in label.
For example:
Europe - Want this locked.
America - Want this locked
Asia - Able to edit
Want to move Europe, America and Asia position to Left or Right. With data source editing still locked.

I'm afraid that there is no protection in BarTender which would guarantee that you can still move, but not edit / change the content of an object. I will make sure to log this as a Feature Request in our system for the BarTender Document Password and our Security Center companion application.
