Print From Excel To Sheet Of Laser Labels
I have never used Bartender, or any other program this complex. I am not a computer programmer, and many of the terms used in the documentation, help files, and even forums are over my head. I was shown the software a couple of weeks ago by Bartender reps at a trade show, told how user friendly it was, and took one of their packets home along with a disk for the 30 day trial. I then ordered some sample sheets of labels from couple of different resellers and am ready to start printing. The sheets are for a laser printer, and have 4" X 1" labels on them. They are in two columns and two rows, for a total of 20 per sheet.
I want to print a barcode on each label with a human readable identifier. I set up the page, and created the first label, and I was feeling pretty proud of myself. My problem is I now have no idea how to get it to print anywhere except to the top right label. Moving on to step two, my goal is to load a spreadsheet from Excel and have Bartender print approx 2000 labels in order from that sheet. It's not even a complex order (A01A, A01B, A02A, etc).
The labels will be scanned by RF Guns carried by warehouse personnel with our new software system, so I am trying the Code 128 barcode symbology, which I hope is correct.
I am printing from a Windows 7 pc (not a server) if that info helps.
Thank you for any help you can provide to the more technologically challenged among us.

Hello,
To define where your label must be printed and how many labels per page to be printed, you need to access the "File>Page Setup..." option and tell BarTender the required data:
1. Under the "Page" tab you'll need to specify your page size (when creating the label you probably already did specify this value).
2. Under the "Layout" tab you can define how many rows and columns of labels each page will contain. Here you can also specify the size of your margins (side, top and in between label margins).
3. Under the "Printing Order" tab you can specify the order in which this labels per page will be printed or even on which label will the printing start.
Once you've set up your labels and how they will be printed on your stock or pages, you can start thinking on how to relate your document with a database. Below you'll find some tutorial videos you might find interesting:
