Serial Number Resets To Start Each Time
Hi All,
I am trying to design a label with Serial numbers. It is basic to start at the number 1 and increase for each label printed. We also want an input box to allow the user to enter the starting number, which should default to the last serial number printed plus 1.
I have set the input box up to default start at 1, and the label field is tied to this field. If I ask for 2 labels, label one prints the first serial number and label two has the next one in sequence. This part works fine.
When the next print is started, it is still showing the starting sequence as 1, where I would expect it to show a starting value of 3.
I have attached my settings for the input box, and the label object.
Thanks in advance

I notice that you've got a data entry control set up for the object. Make sure the 'update data source after print' box is checked in there as well as in the serialization window and it will update appropriately.

Hi Mike
I have that already set. I have it set for the input field and the object on the label, but do not understand why it does retain the last number in the serialization
Thanks

Hi All
This was an issue on my side. I was using a shortcut to print the label, and should have bee using /XS to exit and save the label after printing. Instead I was using just /X
It is working now
Thanks
Ron
