.eps Image Appears Black

I have a template in where I'm using an eps file as a background image. When I bring the image across to Bartender, it appears black. Does anyone know why this is happening and how to rectify this problem?

  Our support for EPS isn't total and so newer file versions might not work properly.  Also we only support the TIFF header image rather than the vector graphic itself.  I would recommend you use a different image file format if EPS doesn't give you the results you want.

   

  It should be noted that newer versions of BarTender improved matters for our EPS support, but it still isn't total support.
