How do I delete a named sub-string?

  We do not currently have a mechanism for deleting individual substrings. However, BarTender automatically removes all substrings that are not in use by any objects on the format when saved. So, to remove a named substring you first need to make sure that the substring is not in use by objects on your format, then save and close your format. When you reopen the format the substring(s) in question should be removed.
