Duplicate Sql Queries Performed Per Label
Hi All,
I wonder if you could help us, we have
been trialling BarTender and have stumbled upon a potential bug or atleast nothing glaringly obvious my end.
We have created a stored procedure on
our MS SQL database to perform and log actions which a selection of our reports
pull information from.
We are getting a strange result where
the stored procedure is executing twice which in turn produces double the
results in the log tables.
We’ve tested running theSQL stored
procedure through management studio directly and works as expected. As shown
below is an audit trace of “BarTender Suite” executing the same query within a
few milliseconds of each other.
Any idea on what is causing this? Any
other information you’d like to help resolve this?

Even though we've taken care of your issue directly through our technical support I'd like to share the resolution here:
There certainly seems to be an issue when a BarTender document containing SQL stored procedures is automated (from a .NET SDK application, or even from Print Station) that we need to fix.
In the meantime this issue has an easy workaround: you only need to open the affected BarTender document, disable the onscreen database update (from the small database icon found below the design region) and save and close the document. This will fix the problem.

I can't find the "onscreen database update" to disable it. Can you be more specific about where I can find it?

You'll find this option on the lower part of the design area, just over the "Template" and "Data Entry Form" tabs. Attach see a screenshot.
