Do you already own a full license of BarTender? If so, can you let me know what Edition, Version and Build is currently in use?

Yes, Commander's main mission is to receive a trigger file (either as a file, as TCP/IP socket data, as email, or via serial port), and then print a BarTender document. Any other end-result you might be wishing to achieve isn't standard behaviour for Commander and won't normally be supported by us. If you already own a full license of our software and you're trying to as well take advantage of Commander's abilities to run an external program, please attach your Commander task list (.tl) for me to examine (using the "More Reply Options... button)

I do have a full license of BarTender Enterprise Automation 10.1 SR2.  I think the issue comes from running my custom app as a service on Windows Server 2012 and trying to automate Excel 2010.  I works correctly on Windows Server 2003.

I've created a test app that creates an Excel file with a 3rd party add-on.  I was then able to use Commander to watch for a file to show up in the directory and then execute my test app to create the Excel file.

Do you require to run "interactive dialogs" from within Commander?
