Bartender creating additional space in a field when there aren't any in the data source
Hello,
I'm having problems with creating a label whose entries are populated from data stemming from an excel sheet.
The specific problem is as follows - certain entries (in fields) are relatively long an include special characters like "," and "(X)" and whenever those appear bartender in case of the comma adds very large space so instead of looking like this "big, ring" it looks more like this "big, ring".
A similar problem appears whenever there are brackets around a character - for example "(L)" in the excel sheet appears as "( L)" in bartender.
A fix would be greatly appreciated -

I have just created a quick test spreadsheet and label but am not seeing the same issue.
If you look in the record browser in the Database Connection Setup, can you see the extra spaces appearing as I am wondering if it is something in the data itself, non printable characters for example?

No that's not it. After looking for non printable characters I noticed that the problem also appears if you manually type in the text. Bartender creating the spaces -
So it doesn't seem to be an excel conversion problem at all - but some strange behaviour of bartender - I just installed the 30days trial version on my PC at home and it seems I don't have the problem here either. So it looks like a configuration of the bartender I use at work. Now I just have to figure out what configuration and where to switch it off -
Either way thanks a lot for your help - I appreciate it and it got me closer to a solution -

I figured out what was the reason for that strange behaviour.
Apparently it all hinged on the on which font is used the text box is set to - it works fine with everything other than "Arial Unicode MS" and doesn't create that problem. Have now changed it to Arial.
Thanks a lot Peter Thane for trying to help.
