Slow Record Picker with MySQL

I'm experiencing extremely slow record picker functionality with MySQL database. I just moved over from using a MSSQL for label information. I don't believe it is due to the network configuration as my MSSQL database was set up the same way and does not have this issue. 

I have the record picker running on a form that loads at print time. Selecting from this interface is usable but so slow it would be huge waste of time to wait while selecting records.

I removed the record picker and the label loads quickly and record selector function at the print menu is fast and usable although it is not when the record picker is on a form.
