One label sent to two printers but one left hand and one right hand, how to select orientation?
I have this on multiple sites. I have Datamax A-class printers of both left and right hand (in applicators so it is important the labels are the 'right way up'). Any label can go to any printer. I can only set one orientation in the label design, so on an 'opposite hand' printer the label will print upside down.
I can set a rotation of 180 degrees in the 'opposite hand' printers, but that introduces a whole new range of issues in the printer. It moves fields until the rightmost one is at the leading edge of the label so less than ideal. My bodge is to add a field with just a full stop at the right hand edge of the label to bring everything back into line.
I have read in the forum that printing a label design to a different type of printer will pull in that printer's default settings. I have tried that using two different Datamax drivers but it doesn't make any diference. How 'different' does a second printer have to be before it will pull in the default settings?
VBscript has orientation properties but they are read only.
Does anyone have any other ideas for a more profssional workaround?

As a quick question is it at all possible to create two labels one for the left hand printer and one for the right?

Not really, the customer can run any product down any line, they will get completely flummoxed if they have to check which orientation the printer is and select the label accordingly. It also means they have two label designs to maintain for one product. I can see that going wrong big time!
