carriage return not working

tiring to embed a carriage return into a code 93i barcode

the barcode consist of WHSE«CR»F4A

where whse is a location and i want to tab to the next line and enter f4a

when scanned it doesn't move to the next line it enters all data in the first line

Any thoughts?

  In order to have your scanner print out a carriage return you may have to encode another character/character combination that you can program the scanner to recognize and replace with a carriage return rather than encode it directly into the barcode. This will have to be a 'set aside' character/character combination that will not show up as in other barcodes that you scan as data that is meant to be scanned in as doing this will replace the data with a carriage return.
